"Food access has been a big challenge. Most of our income is channeled towards food which is also expensive. In this village, growing food is hard and especially because of the drought. This has also led to water shortage making it difficult to grow. All this has made it hard getting food, affecting our ability to get adequate food. We mainly depend on the casual job my husband acquired outside the village. This a times may not be enough for our sustainance."

"In this village, we've experienced an elongated drought. Coupled with poor farming lands, it's difficult growing and harvest enough food. The last time we had good rains were 2 years ago. This has led to a lot of food shortages hard hitting on our family. To obtain food, we need to do manual labours paying $2.50 a day. The amount is little and at the same time difficult to get a job. It makes me sad not to be able to provide for my family. Life has been really hard because of inadequate food."

"My main goal for the coming year is to have my own business. I have been struggling to make ends meet due to the lack of a reliable source of income, therefore my plan is to start a greengrocery business that would act as an income-generating business for my family to achieve this, I would commit myself to saving at least $10 every month with the transfers that would be receiving so that in the next few months, I shall have started the business and would later expand it."

"My main goal is to have a livestock-rearing project. I would want to start with the rearing of goats owing to the fact that they are quite cheaper as compared to cows. Later, I would sell part of them and buy cows to have the different types of livestock in the farm. So to achieve this, I would ensure that after every two months, I buy a goat worth $34 or $35 to start off the project."

"My future goal is to educate my children to a level that I would want to without being interrupted due to the lack of school fees. Therefore, I would ensure that every month, I set aside $20 for school fees payment in case there would be any amount to be settled or spent it on expanding the business and with increased profits, I would open a bank account for their education."
