"Facing a leaking and nearly collapsing house, I wisely invested $420 from GiveDirectly to build a two-roomed shelter, ensuring my family's safety and comfort during rainy days. With my husband covering most expenses, including our children's education, I allocated $70 for school fees, addressing overdue payments. To alleviate the financial strain on my husband, who works on a limited income, I spent $60 on purchasing food essentials. The support from GiveDirectly played a crucial role in securing our basic needs, and we express our heartfelt gratitude for the assistance provided."

"Our savings group will be distributing the saved money in February, I have saved for a while now and I had a number of things in mind that I hoped I will achieve using this savings. I have wanted to learn driving, I have a friend who works in the city as a driver and he is usually getting jobs so regularly. I also want to be able to get high paying jobs like he does and so I hope to achieve this by undertaking a driving course. I am also an animal rearer, I would want to add more animals, I have 40 chicken and 7 goats, I had10 goats but I sold 3 due to emergencies. I want to increase the number of this animals as well as add more types of animals to my small farm. I would also want to set up grocery stall which can earn an income. I may not achieve this in succession but this are the things I hope to achieve using my transfers."

"As I said I have a dream of putting up a business selling daily use retail items. My target is to have $500 to start the business and I have so far $210 and still saving towards my goal. My estimate is that I will be able to begin the business next year. I had always wanted to go to college but the lose of my father in 2015 leaving my mother a single mother with four children. She is a farmer and hence never made much to have enough to take us through college. I also married but I live with my wife in my mothers house which I would want to change. I hope through this business I will afford money to go study and become a plumber as well as put up a house for me and my wife."

"I am a single mother with two children, and my primary source of income is farming. Upon receiving my second transfer, I decided to initiate a poultry project to establish a reliable source of income, given that I am the sole provider for my family. I dedicated $200 to set up the poultry venture and also invested $100 in renting a piece of land in preparation for the planting season. Additionally, $22 went towards covering school fees, and the remaining $128 was saved. Choosing poultry farming was a conscious decision, as I saw its potential to offer a consistent income with effective management. The challenges of earning only $3 per day from occasional employment made achieving this goal difficult in the past, as it barely met our basic needs. I am truly thankful to the organization for helping me easily realize my dreams, bringing joy and a sense of accomplishment into our lives."

"This year, my main goal is to take good care of my cow and goats. I hope to see them multiply, and the thought of achieving this brings me joy. The growth in their numbers is not just about having more animals; it represents a solution to my problems. With their increase, I can sell some and use the income to address various needs, including the education of my children. It's a simple yet meaningful plan that holds the promise of a better future for me and my family."
