"My son is currently four years old, and it has been a year since he was diagnosed with epilepsy. Throughout this time, I have faced numerous challenges, but my unwavering determination led me to seek specialized medical care for him. I diligently ensured that he received the proper medication and support required to stabilize his condition. I am overjoyed to share that his health has significantly improved, and he now experiences rare instances of collapsing. Looking towards the future, my focus is to enroll my son in school early next year. This decision stems from my deep-rooted belief in the power of education to shape a brighter future. By providing him with a proper education, I aim to equip him with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue his dreams and secure a prosperous life ahead. The invaluable transfers I have received have played a vital role in achieving this significant milestone with my son. They have provided me with the means to access the specialized medical care he needed and have alleviated the financial burden associated with his condition. I am overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude for the support I have received, as it has paved the way for my son's well-being and the realization of his educational aspirations."

"Financial constraints is the challenge I am currently facing in life. I do motorcycle business at the trading centre earning approximately $3 per day. This caters for food only and sometimes the family goes without food. This has affected me interms of development projects. My wife has enrolled in one of the technical colleges in the community but she has stopped due to lack of school fees . The family also lives in a structure that has holes and it is not spacious. It leaks during rain season."

"Having a family of 8 people can be so challenging especially in terms of food provision. This has been the most difficult duty for me as a parent because I am jobless and I depend on my husband who is a motorbike taxi. His daily income is usually $3 after sorting the bike owner. This amount is very little and it means skipping some meals in a day. The pain of watching my children crying because of hunger is what hurts me most and I have always considered financial crisis as my biggest challenge."

Mariam
received a $360 second payment.
"My main ambition is to kickstart a project that brings in income to my family. The project in mind is a little grocery store. In our village, folks have to trek a long way just to find some fresh vegetables, especially because of this ongoing drought. But my plan is simple yet effective; to set up a system that uses the water from the nearby dam to irrigate a small patch of land. That way, I can grow veggies right here, eliminating the need for those exhausting journeys and making life a whole lot easier for everyone in the village. It's not just about money; it's about creating a sustainable change for our community."

"GiveDirectly is truly exceptional. It didn't just provide financial assistance; it empowered our entire community. The way it conducted its operations, was like watching a masterclass in ethics and professionalism. What struck me the most was that it was completely non-discriminatory; it treated every person with the same respect and kindness. Thanks to GiveDirectly, I not only received the help I needed but also witnessed firsthand the positive impact this organization has on so many lives. They are more than good; they are a beacon of hope for communities like mine."

"My main goal, if I ever come into some money, is to ensure that I provide my children with the best education possible. I aspire to offer them a solid educational foundation, one that will serve as a valuable inheritance, enabling them to stand on their own feet and thrive in the future. Education, to me, is the greatest gift I can bestow upon them, empowering them to chase their dreams and become self-reliant individuals in the years ahead."

My goal is to complete this construction to give my family to see the chance of seeing a better home."

received a $24 fourteenth payment.
"My goal is to finish school and build an emergency fund. I am in class 8 which means I still have 4 more years of secondary school to ensure I have a basic education that can get me into the job market. I cannot rely on my parents wholly to achieve this since they also have the 6 other children who have to finish primary education. I know I can only achieve this by using my transfers for school related activities as well as buying animals which can multiply to allow me get an emergency fund that can kick in when I am no longer receiving transfers. Also issues of health can get you off guard so this animals will also act as an emergency fund for the same."

"As I said I have three school going children and one child who is done with school and is now at home. My plan is ensure they finish school and are fed. My business does not earn much and that means I will be to huge extent reliant on Givedirectly transfers to meet this needs. I hope to also buy a few animals to help me build savings for tough days to come since I believe the programs will come to an end as we had been informed."
