What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Ever since my spouse, Timothy Poison left me back in 2021 it has been hard for me having to take care of my 2 boys, Chimwemwe and Ongani. My hurdle mainly has been lack of food. I depend on pieceworks to provide for my family and I really don't get paid much to sustain my household. On a good day I am paid $5 which I use to buy a bucket of maize that runs as food for a week. The fact that I don't have a sustainable cash flow to provide for my children like that always stresses me out.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am generally pleased when I attend traditional ceremonies right here in my village. The interactions and entertainment I get from such cultural functions sooth my soul.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money means that I will improve my house first. For instance, I would like to buy iron sheets for the roof and some bags of cement for the floor. This is to bring me comfort so that depite my everyday challenges I can say I have a comfortable place that I call home. Thereafter I plan on spending the other part of the money on food, thus, 6 bags to offer me and my children food security until the next harvesting season.
