What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With the money i cash out from my phone I bought cement to improve my house, half bag of rice and pay my children school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before I started receiving this payment my house was incomplete and needed some work to be done on it, so with this money I was able to plaster my house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in the kitchen cooking my breakfast when I heard the noise and send my daughter to know what's happening and when she came back she told me that Give Directly has send our money, immediately I left my food I was cooking to go and check for myself and my money was there also, my husband who was also taking his bath quickly came out of the bathroom to celebrate with me.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge I'm facing now is money. I want to build a house in Kanweaken, where my children will live and go to school which has been my plan for a long period but I don't have sufficient money. Even though am engaged in the slippers business, the money I earn from the business, I use some to pay my children's tuition and use the balance on food and other needs. The reason I want to build a house in Kanweaken for my children is that I'm spending too much money on rent and the business I'm doing is little, more besides my husband is not working. I paid 20,000 Liberian dollars every year for my children's rent and at the same time paid 90, 000 Liberian dollars for their yearly tuition. It's not an easy task for me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy or happiness is the life in me and that of my family because, for the past six months, none of my family members had been to the hospital or had been involved in an accident.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successful to receive this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use the money to build a house in Kanweaken for my children. My husband is not working, am the only person who is supporting the family through the little slippers business I'm doing. My children are in Kanweaken going to school and I paid rent for them every year because the school in this town doesn't have a daycare for them to attend because of that I send them along with my sister to take care of them. Paying rent at the same time paying tuition is not an easy task.
