"I want to buy a piece of land and build commercial buildings which go at about $60. I would like to build houses which I will rent out. I want to buy more goats which will reproduce and give me more animals. I want to be able to sell this animals and use the money to save towards buying the piece of land. I want to eventually build some structures on the piece of land and rent it out to be able to make money which I can use to take my child through school although my child is not yet of age to go to school."

"I hope to expand my business much greatly. I have been investing my transfers in adding to the business and all the money I get from the business I pump back into the business to help it grow further. I have not been able to save in this previous months which is something I hope to change in coming months. I want to study building and construction something I could not achieve because of the great poverty in my home. I would like to use the savings I will make from the business to pay for my college fees once I have an amount enough to start out."

"My husband's business ended two weeks ago as the television he was using for the business was his brother's who sold it off and now my husband cannot operate and hence is now back to relying to casual jobs that are hard to find. I have been thinking of finding a way of supporting my family financially. I have a plan to start a business using the GD transfers which I receive. I want to start a business selling groceries at the market. I would also want to add more goats to my flock. I want them to become so many so I may be able to sell them. As they give birth they grow in number which means that if my business is suffering I can always get cash from the selling one of them and boosting it."

Zawadi
received a $27 tenth payment.
"I have a small roadside food spot where I sell porridge, fried potatoes and foods of different kinds. I started my business using my third and fourth GD transfers. I have now acquired a shop where I am selling this food. It has grown exponentially and this is something I am happy about. I would want this roadside food spot to grow to a a point where I am selling the things that my customers ask for. I am now able to cook maize meal, cereals which I did not sell earlier. My plan is to continue saving in my savings merry go round group so that when have a sufficient amount I can ask for a loan which I will use to buy more things for the business so that it can be known far and wide and I can get customers from all over."

Johnson
received a $27 tenth payment.
"My aim is to build a house for myself of two rooms. I need 24 roofing sheets for this house which each goes at $9.5 and then also buy like 60 posts which I buy at $1 each. I cannot afford to build a house made of stone but I am hoping to build one from wood and mud with an iron roof that my wife and I can live in. My house is quite small and is a grass thatched house which means that it leaks when it rains and during the dry season their is usually some strong winds that can carry it away. Also the roof is susceptible to being chewed down by termites which is a big problem here. I hope to have completed my new house by the end of this year as this is an emergency for me seeing that we are now entering the rainy season."

Sammy
received a $27 tenth payment.
"This year my main aim to is to learn how to be a good mechanic so I can open my own workshop. I am hoping to use my GD transfers to pay my rent for the house I took for $20 and the rest of the transfer $14 will go into buying food for me. I was working as a motorcycle driver employed by someone and I would get like $5 per day and I would be required to pay $4 to my employer to ensure that I had the motorcycle still but this wasn't making me a sufficient income. My projection is that with the skills of being a car mechanic and starting my own place, I will be able to make a good income that will be sufficient for me."

Irene
received a $27 tenth payment.
"I live in a rented room in a different village from my home, I pay a monthly rent of $25 for this room. I have been really wishing that this can change. I cannot live at home since the sun is hotter there and the drought there is much more intense than here, they fully depend on buying water and food which is not the case here. I want to be able to have enough money saved by the end of this year that I can buy a piece of land that I can build my home on. I want to be self reliant since now I do not have a source of income and I depend on my husband even for the paying of rent in this room. I want my children to also access good schools and also go through school without stopping and this village provides the right environment for this. In my home children barely get through school as the environment is not conducive even for children to study and get better opportunities."
