"GiveDirectly did a good job in coming to our village and enrolling us on the program. In addition, following up on the transfer after they send it to ensure they had met the intended purpose is a recommendable job. I wish if possible the organization reconsider one-time aid and visit our village again to support the youth in education."

"I spent $200 of the most recent transfer completing the construction of a two-roomed house that I had started with the first transfer. I bought iron sheets and paid the labour cost of putting up the roof. This is because I was living in a shelter that was inclining on one side about to collapse. Currently, I am glad to live in a decent house like others in the village. I also used $210 to pay school fees for my 3 boys who are still schooling both in secondary and primary school. Previously, they were always staying at home due to fee arrears something that bothered my mind as a parent. Currently, I am happy that they are learning without any issues something that has restored peace of mind. Lastly, I used the remaining amount to purchase food for the family since we did not have much in the store."

"In the village, people do not like walking under the scorching sun. My goal is to open a grocery shop where I will be selling tomatoes, onions, and green leafy vegetables. I plan to save two months of transfer and venture into the business."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in coming to our village and enrolling everyone into the program without discrimination. Giving direct cash instead of material aid was a good decision that they make. I feel everything went well since the processes were elaborated clearly during the first community meeting with the officers."

"I have been feeling unwell for quite sometime now. This has left me making several visits to hospital in an effort to find a lasting solution to my current situation. In the next year and beyond, I will be focusing on my health first as I make intentional efforts to pay school fees for my children who are still in secondary school. I have three children who are in their secondary school level of education and getting enough money to pay their school fees shall be one of my priorities going forward. I will be relying on small scale farming and livestock keeping to raise such money and I am glad that I would not have other projects that may prevent me from achieving this."

"The funds from GiveDirectly allowed me to pay for my computer classes. I am currently pursuing an International Certificate of Digital Literacy at Brite Computer School. There is a $385 tuition fee. With the cost having been covered thanks to GiveDirectly, I have one exam left. I'll be fully certified and done with the lessons. Part of the funds also went towards paying for my rent. I made sure to pay a couple of months in advance, guaranteeing I would be in the black for a few months moving forward. My rent is $40 per month. I also set off to stock up on as much food as possible in my house, to make sure I had enough for a while. My wife and our three-year-old kid live in Bomet. She's a stay-at-home wife and takes care of our poultry that we rear to sell. With the casual labor jobs I do, earning $5 to $10, the funds from GiveDirectly were a welcome blessing. It allowed us to be able to do so much as a family, and the results of that will continue to impact us positively for years to come."
