"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does very well by conducting their enrollment excercises in the most transparent manner possible. They do this without any form of bias whatsoever. Giving cash as a form of support makes it easier for people to choose what they are most comfortable with. Looking at the dairy cow that I bought and the immediate medical attention that my son got because of these transfers makes me very happy. That freedom to choose was everything to me. On the other hand, I feel that GiveDirectly should be more keen to make sure that no person who is deserving is excluded in their program. A case in point is my daughter who was left unregistered and yet I felt she needed to have benefitted from the program as well. I am however very grateful that I got to receive the transfer and for the help it gave me and my family."

"GiveDirectly did well in supporting the poor household through cash transfers. Through the money, I am glad that it has helped me in constructing a new house and funding the education of my grandchild. I can say everything went on well and there is nothing that they should improve on in their processes."

"I have been obsessed with what I can do to make life bearable for my family. Since I do not have any other source of income except the current underperforming business, I had set up a goal of spending a portion of my monthly transfers to acquire additional stock. With diversified stock, I shall realize increased sales translating to increased family income. As a result, catering to the family's education and acquiring food will not be as stressful as it had been for me in the past."

"GiveDirectly did a good job in coming to our village and enrolling us on the program. In addition, following up on the transfer after they send it to ensure they had met the intended purpose is a recommendable job. I wish if possible the organization reconsider one-time aid and visit our village again to support the youth in education."

"In the coming years, I hope to continue supporting the education of my kids through secondary school since they are still depending on me. At the moment, one is in form 2 and the other is in form 4 and about to join college next year. In addition, I intend to boost my goat-rearing by purchasing more goats. This is a future investment that will support the education of my children to the college level. I will be able to sell their offspring to pay school fees for the kids."

"In the village, people do not like walking under the scorching sun. My goal is to open a grocery shop where I will be selling tomatoes, onions, and green leafy vegetables. I plan to save two months of transfer and venture into the business."

"I am a widow living with my 3 children. Providing for their educational needs has been a great burden on my shoulders since I am jobless. I depend on charcoal burning an activity that earns me $1 per day on average which is not enough even to feed the family. Most of the time my kids were staying at home because of huge fee arrears something that kept me worried about the future of the kids. I used $300 of the recent transfers to support the education of my 2 children who were in secondary school. Currently, I am happy that one was able to complete his secondary education and is about to join college. In addition, I bought a mattress for $45 for myself. Earlier, I was sleeping on an old, torn mattress that was not comfortable. At the moment, I am happy owning and sleeping on proper modern bedding. The remaining amount assisted me to purchase enough food for the family. It has been a long time since we had enough food harvests from our farm due to changes in the climate pattern."

"GiveDirectly does very well by giving their support in terms of cash and accompanying that with the freedom to choose how someone would want to spend their money is even more marvelous. Looking at the kind of investments that I have made over this period makes me very happy. These are things I would not have done had I not been given the freedom to choose what to do for myself. I did not find anything with GiveDirectly that I thought would have been done better."
