Mabel
received a $239 third payment.
"Givedirectly has done extremely well for me through the cash transfer. The transfers have helped me to send my children to school. I have also purchased some building materials to start my building project. Before I came across Givedirectly, I was living in a deplorable house and couldn't afford to buy even a bundle of zinc."

"GiveDirectly did well in enrolling all eligible households in the community. Furthermore, the officers were very polite and professional. They elaborated on the enrollment stages well; it was easy to understand the processes, and no one faced discrimination basic on politics or religion status."

enrolled.
"The biggest challenge I have is that I am a single mom. I still live in the same compound with parents which causes conflicts many times from my dad due to the fact that he was not happy when I got pregnant. In addition to that the father of my child doesn't give me any kind of support which lead me into hustling so much. I do casual job and earn less than $1 per day. I believe that if I get this support from GiveDirectly, I will manage to build my house and start a new goof life with my child."

Debra
received a second payment.
"When I got married to my husband, we were both in collage and we believed that we had a bright future ahead of us. Since both of us come from a very humble backgrounds, my parents somehow managed to pay my school fees until I graduated but unfortunate, my husband had to drop out of school at some point due to lack of school fees. When I graduated, I was very hopeful that I will get a job to support my husband go back to school but a couple of years later today with two children, I haven't managed to find a job. When we receive our first transfer, my husband was able to go back to school and we are grateful to GiveDirectly for that. I spend $417 to open a second hand clothes boutique and the balance to buy iron sheets that we used to roof a two bedroom muddy house that we had built. With this business I will be able to pay my husband's college fees and school fees for my children."

Kadzo
received a sixth payment.
"Right now, supporting the education of my four children is my priority. I wish to continue growing my charcoal business and hopefully obtain other sources of income that will enable me to raise more school fees. In the short run, I intend to start by admitting my son Moddy to high school first. After he is settled, I will continue expanding my business and buy goats to increase my income streams. "

Mwenda
received a $28 sixth payment.
"By the end of the year, I wish to have built the extra room to completion. I heavily count on my monthly cash transfers to make this wish a reality for me because whatever I make from selling sardines cannot cover anything beyond food costs. I will be very happy to see my grandchildren occupy one room and me the other, for this will bring enough space and privacy for all of us. "

Kadii
received a $28 sixth payment.
"I have always wished to reduce my dependence on my son. Though the monthly cash transfers have allowed me to settle some needs by myself, am worried that capacity may stop when the cash program ends in five years' time. To ensure I have a reliable source of income by then, my plan is to build a six-room rental structure made of brick walls and a tin roof on the piece of land I own near my trade center. "

Dama
received a $28 tenth payment.
"I would like to build a kitchen structure that will provide ample space for cooking and storing cooking pots. All along, I have been doubling one of the rooms in my house as a kitchen, something that has deprived me of sleeping spaces especially when I receive guests. I plan on consulting a builder about the estimated costs of the construction project and then start buying the building materials like poles and iron sheets. I believe that obtaining this kitchen space will eradicate the shame I feel when my visitors see me cook at the same spot they expect to lay their heads at night. "
