received a $435 second payment.
"I am looking forward to concentrate on modern farming now that I got my farm back. Putting more effort on maize farming will mean that I will have enough for domestic use and I will sell the surplus to pay school fees for my children when they join collage. I really don't want them to miss going to collage and chase their dreams and I cant wait for a day when I will see them graduating."

"I am looking forward to pay loans that I have for the next couple of months so that I can save towards opening a general shop for my wife. This will mean that, combining the business with dairy business, she will be able to cater for basic needs as I focus on paying school fees and other family projects."

"I have a lot of plans this year, especially in relation to the money I will be receiving, so I am rather happy about it. I was expecting to save the cash so that I could ultimately build a suitable home for myself because the one I currently dwell in makes it difficult to believe that anyone is living there. In addition, I must express my gratitude for the donations because they have made it possible for me to meet my daily needs rather than relying on my grandson, who barely earns enough money to support himself. As a result, I want to set aside some money so that I may concentrate on my nutrition and also hopefully invest on buying some farm animals."

"What GiveDirectly does well is supporting us with unconditional cash transfers. Its through the cash that we are able to educate our children, provide them with basic needs and improve our standards of living through building better houses. May you continue uplifting other people in the society like me, I am so grateful."

"Before I started receiving the transfers, it was hard for me to put food on the table. My two children were frequently sent home for lack of fees because I couldn't pay on time. My eldest son whom I depend on is employed by a neighbour to look after animals. However, his work does not pay much to cover the household expenses like food. The transfers came as a huge relief to me, since I can now plan for food as well as fees for my children. My goal currently is to ensure that I pay for them and that they continue with their studies without interruptions on fees. This will ensure that they achieve their academic goals despite the financial hardships."

"I'm pleased that my kids can eat a balanced meal, get school supplies, and wear better apparel. At the time of enrollment, this was not the case, but the regular transfers made it possible. Even if we haven't yet accomplished what we need to, I believe that our lives have improved. My husband passed away six years ago, and I have been raising his six children ever since. While the rest are in primary school, three are currently in high school. In addition, the condition of our one-room house, which serves as the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, is poor, necessitating the construction of a new, bigger one.Currently, I work as a domestic helper, earning $30 per month. When combined with the monthly stipend, our household income is $64. In order to satisfy the urgent needs, I will set aside a portion of the revenue each month to purchase a goat for rearing and utilize the remainder to pay for both educational costs and everyday living expenditures. I'll sell some of the goats once they will have multiplied to generate income for both the school's expenses and the construction materials.."
