"I am convinced that education will improve my children's lives and help them escape the poverty I am currently experiencing. I struggle to provide for all of my five children's educational needs because of low paying job as a motorcycle taxi, or "bodaboda." My new objective for the coming months is to use the funds from my subsequent transfers to pay my kids' tuition. They won't be expelled for having unpaid school fees as a result, allowing them to concentrate on their education."

"This year, my four-year-old daughter Nuru will begin school. She is my firstborn, and I want to give her everything. I'm a single mom who currently resides with my mother. My source of income is tailoring, but because of the chest issues I have, I am unable to work at it throughout the day, and as a result, I do not earn much money from it. I plan to start raising chickens and goats in order to supplement our household income and pay for school fees. They are quick to breed, can survive the drought we are experiencing, and are simple to manage. In the future, I intend to sell some of them to generate cash for our expenses"

"My first priority has always been figuring out how to build a new, better house. The existing one is in poor shape; more of the wall and the roof have collapsed. My spouse and I are both elderly, therefore we were unable to accomplish anything to raise money for a new room's construction. When we call the children who have moved to the town for the purpose of financial support, they always say they have no income. We therefore relied on burning charcoal for sale, but as we get older, we can no longer handle the demanding task. I told my wife to cease burning charcoal the moment we started getting the transfers, and we now only enjoy the monthly stipend. Since then, we have been utilizing part of the money to buy food and part to buy building supplies. We have so far raised ten iron sheet pieces, but we still need eighteen more to raise the necessary number. As long as we get all the monthly transfers, we aim to have a dream house by the end of the year"

"With the second batch of my transfers, I used ksh 28000 to buy two young bulls that I am planning to rear for about one year and sale them so that I can invest the money in farming. When I received my first transfers, I build my family a permanent house since we were all living in a small structure that was not secure at all and not spacious enough for all of us, so this time with the second transfer, we bought a few things for the house like chairs, utensils and we are completely comfortable now. I also made sure that I bought enough food and clothes that will last my family for a while as we figure out our next source of income since the transfers have come to an end."

"With the second transfer, I used ksh 40000 to complete payment for a piece of land I started paying for with the first transfer , I planted about half an acre of maize in that space and it is that is doing fairly well given that we have experienced frequent droughts, and now we are hoping to have enough food for the family for a number of months, food security at home will help us focus on other things and plan well."

"Since my son in college will be done with school in one year, I will have a chance to invest the money from my milk business to start rearing chicken, this will be a good investment since the amount of money required to start is not as much as most businesses. With as little as ksh 10000, I will comfortably start off and my son will be helping me out until I stabilize."

"When I get enough money from the milk business I am planning to start, I will also plant maize and beans to create a second source of income and ensure food security at home. I will try my best to have a healthy family by providing all the basic needs especially enough and quality food."
