"Financial problems is the challenge I am currently facing. I am a widow living with four children. They are all schooling. Two at college, one at secondary and one at primary school. Raising school fees and buying food for this family is a challenge given the fact that I have no job only relying on casual work."

"Food insecurity is the challenge that I am facing. My main job was subsistence farming but it Si four years now without raining in our village. This has forced me shift to casual jobs. I make charcoals for sale which is very tedious. There are no trees in the village for this business. Most of the time I go without food."

"In addition to working as an office messanger, I also engage in livestock and poultry farming to supplement my income. Despite these efforts, providing for my ten children's needs, such as food and school fees, remains a challenge. To address this, I have set a goal to establish a kiosk business in the near future. I am not only passionate about running this type of business but also hopeful that it will serve as an additional income source to support my family. By expanding my sources of income through the kiosk, I aim to generate substantial profits that can contribute towards meeting the various needs of my family."

"My living condition is so bad ever since my house was demolished partly and killed my two children early in the morning. I live in fear thinking any time it might happen again. If I had the financial ability I would go and acquire land where I can build house for myself and family in a safe place."

"When it rains I live in fear because I keep imagining what happened to this community will anytime happen to us again.
A landslide took place in 2022 and killed three people who were walking back to their homes. And this cause me and my family to live in fear."

"My wife is very sick she got hit by sand while she was trying to organise the house by mudding it in 2019. Upto now she has never recovered and finds it very hard to walk and even do any work around tye house. Her chest and back hurt alot and yet we do not have any money for her medication.
The Landslide that occurred in 2019 washed away land where I was farming. Even in November 2022 the biggest position was taken from by the landslides. Now I have a big family and have limited space and land for digging and yet we need a lot of food.
The other challenge that i face is lack of enough money to take all my children to school. My son Nabende Pius just joined secondary school in Bukinyala and he sat the term without fees uo enable him do his exams."

Becody
received a $388 second payment.
"Even though I am a single parent, I have to fully provide for the basic needs of my family, such as food, shelter, and education. My last born son sat for his primary examination last year and passed well. He was then admitted to grade 9 at a different school, and I had to fully cater to his school uniform and school fees. I am glad that the transfers came in handy, as I spent $170 on uniforms and an additional $60 on paying for term one school fees. For the rest of the transfers, I saved towards the purchase of a 0.1-acre piece of land that I wish to own once I get enough money since the current land we live on is under some family dispute and I fear my family of two might be thrown out at any time. I have not been able to save enough money since the profits I earn from the grocery and second-hand clothes businesses all cater to food for the household, and I have no surplus as savings."
