Linet
received a $392 second payment.
"My top priorities include supporting my five children's education and meeting their basic requirements, like food. They still have a long way to go before finishing at least high school because they are in elementary school. I, therefore, give their education my full attention. I intend to establish a savings strategy through the occasional job I undertake to assist me in achieving my objective."

received a $407 second payment.
"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by giving out cash transfers to improve my living standards. As for me, this was the best decision from them since it has brought positive impacts. Therefore, I do not see any negative things that they have done that need to be changed. "

Mariam
received a $26 ninth payment.
"From the beginning of this year, my main goal was to buy a new mattress. I have therefore been working on that by building up my savings toward the same. Acquiring a better mattress will relieve me from the pain that I have been bearing while using an old mattress. Secondly, I had a goal of supporting my husband's business to make him have a reliable source of income. Because I have three school-going children, I also aim to raise goats which will give me an avenue of raising fees for them as they advance with their academics."

Agnes
received a $26 ninth payment.
"From my business, I often realize a low profit that is not sufficient to sustain my family. To supplement my household income, I hope to initiate a project of raising goats. So far, I do not have any except for a poultry farm that is running. I began poultry farming last year once I began receiving my transfer. I am happy I have so far acquired three hens. As my flock grows, I will prioritize selling some fowls to raise money for my family's upkeep. I also aim to divert some transfers toward acquiring goats."

Mercylyne
received a $26 fifth payment.
"My parents were overburdened because I come from a large, impoverished family of 12. Therefore, when I sat for my national exams last year, I could not pay my school fee arrears. I have been bothered by this circumstance, and I am always considering how to reduce the remaining fee balance. With the guarantee of the monthly payments, my main objective is to pay off the remaining fee arrears. Even though I wish to advance academically, I will not be able to do so until I pay off my fee arrears and obtain my certificate. I also intend to use my transfers to boost my poultry farming which I started this year."

Mwalimu
received a $26 thirteenth payment.
"Although I have been sleeping at my brother's house, I desire to build mine. I had never constructed one. I find it easy to sleep in his house because he is away in Mombasa. Because he recently married, I am worried that if he comes with his wife, I will struggle to find a place to sleep. As a result, I intend to utilize a portion of the transfers to build my house. In the course of this year, I hope to be able to complete this. In addition, I have bought three goats, and I intend to buy more to increase the size of my herd as I continue to receive my monthly transfers."

Samini
received a $393 second payment.
"In the coming year and beyond, I would like to get married. I have been feeling so lonely for the last ten years since my first wife went to be with the Lord. It has been a tough experience, and I have been thinking of changing my status for the sake of my well-being and that of my seven children in particular. I am planning to sell some of my goats once they increase in number so that I can pay the dowry, which I believe will soon be attained."

Fatu
received a $230 third payment.
"My house is not in good condition . It leaks during the rainy season, especially my bedroom. My wife and I planted some crops last year for us to raise money to build, but the crops couldn't produce well. We managed to eat the little crops from the farm. Life has really been tough over the years. The help from Givedirectly I brought gas to help cut the stick and I also purchased 3 bundles of zinc to build my dream house. The remaining money, we decided to buy a few food things for the house."
