"As I mentioned earlier, I joined a savings group as a result of receiving GD transfers. Last year we saved from February, and I was able to get about $100 in February this year, which has contributed towards achieving my goal. My main goal for the year is to build a house for my family which is usually a capital-intensive project. I have already purchased some of the things but I hope to see this project accomplished at the end of this year. I will still be saving with my savings group and direct my savings towards the project as my husband also works on the same. I also want to add a few more animals that will reproduce. I plan to eventually buy a cow by selling the offspring and using the proceeds from selling milk from the cow in taking care of my brother's school fees."

"Before receiving the transfer, I was living in a very tough situation where I had to look for gigs in exchange of barely 1 $ or some food. My dreams of renovating my house where out of reach and I struggled to get some food. It is safe to say that life is better now; I am able to eat while carrying on the renovation projects. I pray and thank GD each morning."

"In order to avoid having to travel too far for water, I intend to expand my farming operations and pipe water from the nearby primary school, which has a borehole, to my homestead. This is my plan with the last transfer that I will receive from Give Directly and hopefully have things easier for me and my family."

"I currently burn and sell charcoal but due to the persistent drought, we do not have customers like we used to. Life has become so difficult and challenging because most people do not have jobs to earn themselves income. The ones with jobs, do not have customers. After completing my house building project, I am planning to start my poultry farm and also buy goats, and start taking care of them. I believe with goats it is easy to sell them when they have grown and one can get a huge cow that you can feed and invest on, and sell it later at a profit. I believe every idea one has, provided they get the funds, they can put it into action and better their tomorrow. Thank you so much GiveDirectly for believing in us."

"My goal is to open my own kiosk where I can be selling my fish and make huge profit and provide a better life to my children and also without causing any disturbance to my brother's business. To achieve this goal, I need to create a well-structured business plan that will help me identify potential risks, competitors, financial needs and estimated profits. Moreover, I should research my target market to understand their needs and preferences so that when the need arises, I can easily meet it. Thanks to GiveDirectly for all the support I received from them."

"My hope is to use the money I will have saved to invest into the goat buying business. I currently have three goats and I believe that after it has rained, the goats will grow and I can sell them at a profit.By investing in goats, I can generate more income and improve my financial situation. With the money I make, I plan to rent a larger space and open a kiosk where I will be able to sell fish and vegetables. I am excited about the possibility of expanding my business and providing better opportunities for my family. I am grateful for the support I get from GiveDirectly and I look forward to seeing my business grow."

"My ultimate goal is to invest in buying cows once I receive the money from my savings account. With cows, I can generate a steady income through milk production and when the time comes, I will sell them for meat. This investment will help me provide for my family and ensure that my children have a bright future by using the profits from my cow business to pay for my children's college education. I believe that investing in their education is the key to helping them succeed and achieve their dreams. I want them to have access to the best possible education, and I am determined to make that happen."

"To buy chickens and goats and then sell them for a profit is the sole objective I now have. Although I have some great ideas, I cannot practically start them became of a lack of funds. When one is the primary provider, life can be really challenging. Everyone depends on you and when you lack they all lack and when you have, they all have. For one to purchase a goat, around $35 can be spent, and it will also cost you to take good care of the animals you want to keep. For me to start my own poultry and goat keeping firm, I will need around $100 in order to buy more of them and also to get their food. I currently have five goats and my ultimate goal is to have a large number so that I can invest in them and later sell them and make profit."

"At the moment, my husband burns and sells charcoal. He genuinely works as hard as he can to support our family, yet it feels like all of his efforts are in vain. I tend to the goats owned by other people with the anticipation of owning the calves once they are born. I only sincerely pray for the ability to acquire my own goats and begin raising them as investments. It is much simpler to invest into them and work hard to ensure their growth when you have your own goats. I will return the goats to the owner the moment I start purchasing my own animals and feel the confidence of having your own goats other than taking care of other people with all insecurities that come along."
