Safari received a $443 initial payment.
"After receiving our initial transfer, my wife and I decided to replace our house's roof, which was in poor condition. The roof was outdated and leaking. We were unable to remove it previously due to our unstable income and our children's school fees responsibilities. My wife and I rely on farming for a living, and together we are blessed with six children. Which is unreliable due to the climate in our area. As a result, we spent $400 on renovating it. Secondly, we used the remaining funds to buy groceries. We will be eternally grateful to the organization for dramatically raising our standard of living."

"The most noticeable difference in my daily life is that my children are relieved to have a decent home and a comfortable place to sleep, which was previously unattainable due to financial constraints. Second, I gathered enough food in the house to last us for a longer period, ensuring that my children have enough to eat. I am extremely happy and grateful for the significant accomplishments I have attained."

"Give Directly has been a blessing in our village. Sending us money is what you did best. You have enabled us to do a lot of constructive things including paying school fees for our children who had drop out of school due to school fees challenges. My son is now in form four courtesy of Give Directly. May you do the same to others too. You also send the money to more women than men, this was so thoughtful because women can not waste money on things like alcohol. I don't see anything that you should improve on."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in deciding to come up with a direct cash transfer aid in our area. Additionally, making an independent decision on selecting the eligible household without any influence by a political or religious entity was a great thing. I feel everything went on well and their nothing that I feel they could do better."

"The house we rent is very small and uncomfortable, we don't have the capacity of building our own house because the small amount of money we work for we use it in our expenses and providing food for our family. We currently don't have enough land, to have food on our table we have to rent a land and be able to cultivate what to eat."

"Give Directly did well to give us free transfers, this really uplifted our livelihoods. Personally, I built my own house and it is so satisfying. You have empowered me to start my own business, thank you so much Give Directly, may you also help others too. Keep up with the same spirit since there is nothing to improve on."

"I spent the second transfer paying school fees worth $ 400 for my two daughters. I am a mother of six, 4 girls and 2 boys. A family of 8 including my husband who is a farmer and cattle keeper. $. 150 helped with buying food, clothes, and household utensils, which had been a great challenge. Before I started receiving the transfer since I am a farmer and own 2 cows, I used to harvest maize from my farm, milk my cows and sell to my neighbors in order to pay for their schools. This was near impossible since we experienced a lot of droughts which resulted in a lack of milk and a good harvest. Thank you so much GiveDirectly for the support, you have put a smile on my face."
