"What I love is that after enrolment and receiving the transfer, there is a serious follow-up being done to ensure the safety of the transfers and deal with any issue. Everything, in my opinion, was done well, but my only wish is that the transfer would continue to help lift our standard up."

"I spent $250 of my second transfer to purchase 6 goats for rearing. Before, I had only two goats after the rest were eaten by wild animals while others died because of draught. Since goats are the only ivestock that survive in this harsh weather, they are the source of our livelihood. I also bought two water tanks for $100 to help harvest the rain water and store it. I used the rest of the transfer to pay school fees for two of my grandchildren and buy food."

"I hope to have enough food for both my family and myself. This I hope to achieve by ensuring that I plant millet that is more drought resistant and maize and other short-term legumes. Currently the cost of food is so high and yet we do not have any source of income to help us buy this, therefore it would be wose if I had my own food."

"I spent a big percangate of my second transfer to purchase a 5000 Litre water tank. For us tk access clean water we have to send someone with a motorbike to go and buy some at a water poin which is I committed a significant portion of my second transfer to the purchase of a 5000-liter water tank. To get access to clean water, we had to send someone on a motorbike to a water station to purchase some, which is expensive because I also needed to purchase for my young goats. Since I lacked the funds to buy one, my long-held desire for a water tank remained only a dream. Givedirectly's fulfillment of this dream makes me happy. Since I already collected enough rainwater for my household requirements as well as the needs of my goats, I no longer worry as much about a lack of water. as I have to buy for my young goats too. I had always yearned for a water tank but since I did not have the fisances tk purchase it, it only became a dream. I am glad that this dream has been made a reality by Givedirectly. Nlw I do not worry about lacking water as much as I already harvested some rain water, enough for my household needs and for my goats."

"Our bodies experience a number of challenges as we age. I haven't been feeling well lately, so I've thought of going to a credible hospital to have my health checked out. As they will serve as a safety net in case of future calamities, I also plan to keep looking and continue growing my herd of goats."

"Since our farm uses irrigation, my plan is to plant tomatoes, possibly in joint cultivation with a villager because this work can be very demanding. Tomatoes have a fantastic return on investment, and I'm hoping to generate a good profit that will help me reach my goal of opening my own shop. This will assist me further become financially stable so that I can hire more people to work on my farms while I indulge in other activities."

"I would like to lease a larger plot of land in a location where irrigation is possible. Since tomatoes grow well there and produce good returns, my objective is to plant them in hopes of increasing sales revenue, which will subsequently enhance our family's ability to satisfy our individual and domestic demands. Besides our house, I also want to build a small room that will act as a kitchen because I now cook outside, which is difficult when it's raining."

"Prior to being permitted to take their exams, my brother, a college student, had some financial arrears that needed to be resolved. Even though the exam dates were drawing near, my father lacked the funds to cover his educational expenses. I used KES 1000 from the GiveDirectly transfer to pay off his remaining fees so that he wouldn't be late for his exams. Since I'm single and have fewer responsibilities, I chose to use KES 25200 of my transfer to purchase 28 pieces of iron sheeting. I intend to utilize them to build a larger house because the one I currently live in is quite small. I made a purchase of some food to consume using the remaining money."

"I was hospitalized in Marigat due to my illness. My son and his wife had been paying me visits on a regular basis. One fateful evening, my son came over and told me the excellent news. He informed me that the transfer had been sent at last. My heart felt extremely happy at the news since I knew I would finally be able to pay my medical bill without breaking a sweat.p"
