"Financial Stability is all my heart aches for. Finding one job that can meet my basic needs, not just food but shelter and clothing. I live from hand to mouth and this has made it hard for me to build myself a house forcing me to sleep out in the cold. With the downpours, the nights are longer since I am not able to sleep comfortably."

"I have a family of two and hope to increase very soon. My husband is a casual worker earning approximately $100 per month. This money caters to food and no investment can be done. In some months he goes without work. That affects our daily meals. Last month we had two days without food. I am just a housewife with no job. So lack of reliable job is the challenge we are facing."

"My husband died three years ago which forced me to take on all the family responsibilities. I am a casual laborer earning approximately $30 per month. This only caters to food and it is even not enough. I have two children who are schooling at primary and college respectively. The one in college is sponsored by a compassion organization. The family takes one meal per day. This has made my children to grow very week. Lack of reliable source of income is the challenge I am currently facing."

"I do subsidence farming on a 5 acres piece of land. That has been my desire for many years. It is now two years without rain in our village. This has affected my work and caused lack of food even to my farming. The drought has caused all my plants to dry up and make me helpless. I rely on my pension now for survival. Lack of rain is the current challenge I am facing in life."

"Bing a widow, i struggle to provide for my son. There's a lot I need find money for. Food is the number one problem since farming doesn't yield anything here we rely on casual work. When you don't find anything to do then you have no money ad food in the house."

"Money problems. If my husband and I don't look for casual work then we won't have food in the house to the point of sleeping on empty stomachs. Our house is small and not enough for the 4 us. Means of finding money are hard to find here in the village since most of these things are seasonal."

"My biggest challenge is poverty. I'm living in my son's house because mine fell and he moved to his wife's village so that I could live in his house. I have no mattress and beddings which I would like to have one day. I am old but I still have to go out to find money for food. I rely on casual labour."

"Currently our only challenge as a household is poor housing. As you can see this house is grass thatched. Having to thatch it year in year out is costly for us and energy draining for us. We wish we lived in an iron sheet roofed house with cemented floor in all 3 rooms but are unable to achieve that due to lack of money."

"My only challenge at present is lack of housing. My initial house collapsed in January due to heavy rains so I have had to move into this boysquarter for shelter. This doesn't bring me the comfort I need and the fact that I don't have the financial capacity to build a new and better house stresses me even more."
